Large Format Printing

As this was a totally new business area for us about a year again, we spend a lot of time analysing this very comparative market with all of their good and bad parts. We noticed quickly, that not only one machine will satisfy your needs.

We finally decided on a partnership with HP, due to their experiences, not only in the machines, but also in the substrates and markets. We then purchased 2 of their machines.
Firstly the HP 500, which is an inkjet printer, can print up to 600mm wide, to the desired length at a reasonable cost.
Secondly, we choose to go for the L25500 Latex Machine, because of its quality, speed and reliability.

HP Designjet 500

The HP DesignJet 500 printer the a primary low-cost HP plotters for CAD, graphic design, renderings, technical drawings and every aspect of AEC drawings.
This printer is not for 3D renderings or photographs. Is is made for technical line drawings in AEC applications, Proofs of poster, Submission Posters, etc. But if you want to do a photo exhibit, print on Vinyl, Canvas, Cloth, etc, we suggest that you should use our second machine.

The HP Designjet L25500

We decided finally on this machine due to the following strengths:

  • High Quality and many substrates are available: Various Vinyl's, Backlit film, Canva, Various Cloths, Paper and many more.
  • Inks for Indoor and outdoor use
  • The Latex technology applied by this Printer is environmentally friendly. By using latex ink, printouts generated quick-drying and odorless chemicals. Thus reducing air pollution (HAP-hazardouz water pollutants). The ink is also not  flammable. As a result, the ink is also safer and more healthy.
  • Latex refers to "a non-allergenic synthetic polymer developed especially for inkjet printing," according to HP's senior technical specialist, printing technology platforms Ross Allen. The ink is primarily water, along with polymers, pigments and additives to help everything work together. In the printing zone, a heater is used to evaporate off the water, resulting in a viscous ink and polymer particle film.
  • Unlike most UV inks, the latex ink used in the L25500 is inherently flexible and conformable - essential for vehicle wrapping.
  • So that HP can guarantee security of this ink prints with coatings for three years for outdoor display, while for indoor display, HP warrants five years with no coating and 10 years with the coating.
